Before we get to the weekend, a quick request. 🍦 Michoacán A Pedir de Boca—the paleta and ice-cream shop at 109 Waterview Pkwy, Ste. 102—has been shut down temporarily while they wait on a new AC unit after a heat incident put one of the owners on the floor. When they reopen, please stop by and buy something. It matters. And for the record, their ice cream is excellent.

Below are three solid, get-out-of-the-house options this weekend.

🌙 1) Adult Night Hike — Cibolo Nature Center (Fri)

One of the better ways to reset after a long week. A guided walk at dusk, slower pace, and a chance to actually hear the creek and the night insects over your own thoughts. Flashlight recommended 🔦; patience and curiosity required. Starts at 7:45 PM at the Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Rd.

🛍️ 2) Farmers Market at Herff Farm (Sat)

If you like your Saturday to feel like a Saturday, this is the move. Produce that tastes like it should 🍅🥕, local meats, bread, and a few stands that always seem to pull you into a conversation. Park once, stroll under the trees 🌳, and let the morning run at Herff Farm from 9 AM to 1 PM. Address is 33 Herff Rd.

🐕 3) Great Pyrenees Meet & Greet — Pet’s Barn (Sat)

Dog people know: you don’t go “just to look.” 🐾 Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue will be at Pet’s Barn on Bandera Road from 10 AM to 2 PM. If you’re considering adopting—or just want to learn more about the breed—this is a good, no-pressure way to do it. And yes, there will be plenty of tail wags. 🐶
